Hi, I'm Paul

I grew up on a farm in Western Kentucky, where I learned early the value of hard work, integrity, and keeping your word. Those roots have shaped every chapter of my life — from earning the rank of Eagle Scout, to pursuing higher education, to leading at the highest levels of business. After graduating from the University of Kentucky and Vanderbilt University Law School, I began my career in public service through Teach for America, teaching high school special education in the Mississippi Delta. It was there I honed the skills of adaptability, resilience, and setting high expectations — lessons that have stayed with me in every leadership role since.

I went on to serve as a finance associate at a large international law firm before taking on senior legal and executive leadership roles in the energy industry, including both traditional oil & gas and renewable power. As one of the earliest employees at a Nashville-based solar energy company, I helped scale operations nationwide. In my current role, I serve as an executive for a portfolio company of one of the world’s largest private equity firms, overseeing project delivery for large scale ($100M+) capital projects. My professional journey has spanned multiple industries and continents, but the common thread has always been building strong teams, leading through change, and delivering results. On a personal note, I met my wife in church when I was in the first grade, and together we are raising our three children.
